These fabrics, which come from quality designers including Lee Jofa, Vervain, and Pulp Design Studios, play with the many ways embroidery and geometric patterns can be used to create intriguing designs with an air of global influence. Here are some of our favorites:
This truly unique fabric from Pulp Design Studios uses neutral-toned embroidery to compose an Japanese-inspired geometric landscape that hints of Art Deco and bursts with energy. On a pillow or even a chair, this fabric can add a one-of-a-kind pop to a space, while still keeping things neutral.

Gold satin stitch, accented with piping in blush and gray-blue, transforms this simple linen cloth into a fabric fit for an Egyptian queen. The geometric embellishment on natural-colored linen is modern, with a distinctly ancient intrigue. Also from Pulp Design Studios.

This trim tape from Lee Jofa employs the same technique – geometric embroidery on linen – but achieves an entirely different look and feel. Curving lines of satin stitch that vary from blush to pink to deep magenta create a dramatic and feminine border that can be paired with a wide range of fabrics.

Another gem from Pulp Studios, this fabric's geometric patterns are drawn with silky-smooth embroidery in warm neutrals, gold, and light pinks. This textured surface has a soft sheen that beautifully compliments gold or rose gold metals and gently alludes to a southwestern style while maintaining a chic, feminine feeling.
When viewed as a whole, this fabric's nested swatches of various patterns give it a distinctly folk-art flare, reminiscent of a patchwork quilt but subtle enough to be cohesive.

In keeping with the soothing blue-green palette, this cut velvet fabric from Vervain takes a turn away from embroidery work but maintains the same touchable texture. With each even stripe, the lagoon-colored velvet melts from light blue to blue-green to bright green.
